### [The 25-Hour Build Was a Queue](https://www.fbritoferreira.com/blog/the-25-hour-build-was-a-queue)
_11 Oct 2026_

NOW TV's release pipeline took 25 hours and only about 30% of end-to-end runs passed, because nobody ran them. The problem was a queue for physical devices, not slow builds. Six months of measuring the wait and buying capacity where it was longest took a run to 1.5 hours and the pass rate past 95%.

axe reported 1 violation and 107 nodes it would not judge on my own site. The 107 were not noise and not failures; they were unmeasured. What it took to measure them, what the one real miss looked like, and the CI rule I run now.

Last week npm shipped 2FA-gated publishing. Eight months too late, two years behind PyPI. The pattern is structural: npm always patches last because the registry is closed source. The fix is three tiers, automated scanning, and opening the source.
